HAYLE ROTARY CLUB:
Last Monday continued the list of October visiting guest speakers when President Brian and members warmly welcomed Patrick McCotter who
treated everyone to a very informative and humorous presentation of his occupation as the local veterinary surgeon Widely travelled and vastly experienced on numerous types of pet and wild animals large and small during his decades of practice in towns, countryside and even prairie Patrick enthralled everyone before answering many questions with his amusing Gaelic charm. Even when taking questions from members on their own pets' peculiar antics and problems the audience sometimes wondered whether the remedy answer was for the animal or the questioner. Patrick would not be drawn on that one! Rotarian David Jones thanked Patrick by proposing a heartfelt vote of thanks for a very rewarding evening in which the guests ticket won the weekly raffle.
The annual poppy collection is now in full operation and 80% of members are out and about at the local supermarkets and stores busy assisting the Royal British Legion. Please stop for a few moments and have a chat and donate to this most worthy of causes. The Remembrance service and parade takes place on Sunday November 13 at St. Elwyn's Church. The AGM takes place on November 14 at the White Hart Hotel at 7pm. Further information on activities can be had by talking to the collectors or call David on 01736 755029 or Trevor on 01736 793596.
