The 12 Days of Christmas

Debbie and Roy began a huge project around 2002 when the committee decided to create The 12 Days of Christmas. This long-term project took 7 years to complete.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree was originally made in 2003 and can be seen on the front of Carwin Villa in the heart of the village.

2 Turtle Doves was also originally made in 2003. It has been displayed at 7 Grist Lane for a few years now.

3 French Hens dates from 2003, they nestle in the trees at Wunaye on Riverside.

4 Calling Birds is also in the batch of lights originally made in 2003. This light is displayed on the fence at the crossroads between Riverside and Hatchs Hill.

5 Gold Rings (did you sing it?) is the 5th light made in 2003. It can be seen on the front of 6 Grist Lane.

6 Geese a Laying was the final light made in 2003. It is made up of 3 frames which are displayed at Chy an Avon, near the viaduct on Riverside.

7 Swans a Swimming was made in 2004. There are 7 separate frames which can be seen in the Angarrack River, next to the bridge at the bottom of Steamers Hill.

8 Maids a Milking, originally made in 2005, is the first of the larger displays. Made up of 3 large frames it was positioned at the far end of Riverside.

9 Ladies Dancing was created in 2006. It has 3 large, animated frames and is positioned above the volunteers shelter on the corner of Grist Lane and Hatchs Hill

10 Lords a Leaping was made in 2007. It is a complex animated display made up of 11 frames. This is the first one to feature the crocodiles and can be seen in, alongside and over the Angarrack River just before the viaduct on Riverside.

11 Pipers Piping, often referred to as ‘The Castle’, was originally made in 2008. This display is made up of 12 frames, animated and set to music. It can be seen and heard in the field on the lefthand side as you enter the village along Grist Lane.

12 Drummers Drumming was made in 2010. A huge, animated display with 11 frames in total that can be seen in the car park of The Angarrack Inn
