The 2008 Angarrack Duck race was a great success with an excellent turnout.

There were strong races in all categories - the Under 7's, Under 11's, Teenagers, Adults - including the 10 Men who won't cheat race!, all topped off with a Champions Race as all the winners of the previous races battled it out to become Angarrack Duck Race Champion 2008.

After a nail-biting race, in which the Weir played a critical part, Chris - the defending champion using secret course knowledge - managed to wish his duck out of the weir first and to a record setting third consecutive Championship. Can anyone beat him in 2009?

The starters and catchers did a brilliant job coping with the rather waterlogged pitch, as did the officials, the bet takers and all the wonderful support from the BBQ team, the delicious Crepes, the Raffle and thanks are due to everyone supporting the event whether buying, selling, betting, racing or just dodging the runners!

The tallying has now been done and the Duck Race raised a terrific £419 towards the lights.
