Road Closure – Commercial Road, Hayle

25 March to 5 April 2019

Due to resurfacing works Commercial Road in Hayle will be closed between 0930 and 1630 on Mondays to Fridays from 25 March to 5 April. During the closure hours First Kernow Services T1 and T2 will operate diversions. Customer notice for Commercial Road and Roseworthy closures. Age UK Service 515 will also operate a diversion via Guildford Road , Viaduct Hill, Trevithick Crescent, Humphry Davy Lane, Queensway, Penpol Avenue, Penpol Road to Foundry Square White Hart.

GWR has announced they will open the doors of the Long Rock Maintenance Depot to the public on Saturday 13 April 2019, raising money for the Penlee Lifeboat station and the RNLI.

On display will be a wide range of old and modern trains and locomotives which have played a part in making Cornwall’s railway a success. From the newest high tech, Intercity Express Train to vintage diesel and steam, all will be available for visitors.

There will also be a chance for members of the public to see the new facilities at the depot, following its multimillion modernisation last year.

Our new exhibition opens tomorrow at 11am. Join us to experience Hayle's early history from the Paleolithic Era to the 5th Century. The Cunaide Stone, a key feature of the exhibition, is a must see.

The team at the Heritage Centre have worked incredibly hard to make everything perfect, so join us in experiencing the story of Hayle's early history.

We're open from 11am-4pm, entry is FREE and all are welcome.

Hayle RFC is holding a Beer Festival on 13 April 2019 from 12 noon.

There will be 10 beers, 4 ciders, a hog roast and music for all!

A journey to and right across the West Country to far-flung Penzance

Picking up from Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and other stations we head to Cornwall with a journey through some of England’s most attractive scenery on this Saturday excursion. From Bristol we travel right across Somerset into Devon, down the Culm Valley into the Exe Estuary and along the Dawlish sea wall, over the steep gradients of South Devon to Plymouth and across the Tamar on Brunel’s masterpiece, the Royal Albert Bridge, into Cornwall for the following options:

Option A – Par (1200/1645) change here for the Newquay Branch Line and Options B and C.

Cornwall Bus Preservation Society's Annual Penzance Running Day in association with Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust .

The Cornwall Bus Preservation Society in association with the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust invites you to come to sunny, warm West Cornwall for our event on Sunday 21 April 2019. This will be our 12th vintage bus running day in Penzance following the original Final VR Running Day on 9 December 2006.
