Permits
You will also need to buy a permit to pay for the collections. Permits will be valid either for six months to cover the main growing season or 12 months for collections throughout the year.
If you already have a bin or bag you will only need to renew your permit which will be delivered by post.
How to apply
You can apply for the service and pay for your permit and bin or bag by:
- phoning the refuse and recycling line on 0300 1234 141 and paying over the phone using a debit or credit card
- visiting any one stop shop and paying in person.
Currently we cannot take online payments for this service but plan to in the near future.
The new bins will be delivered along with your permit, a collection schedule and details of what may be placed out for collection.
Remember to stick your permit on the bin or bag so the collection crews will know you have paid for the service.
There are restrictions around the composting of garden waste which contains certain invasive species, please follow the guidance on the Invasive Species page for disposal.
