Consultation - Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies
The Cornwall Local Plan will establish the context for future growth and development within Cornwall and will set the framework for all subsequent development plan documents. The Strategic Policies document (formerly referred to as the Core Strategy) will set out strategic land use policies to meet Cornwall’s economic, environmental and social needs and aims for the future.
Current Stage
Consultation on the Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies Pre Submission Version (Regulation 19); the Community Infrastructure Levy Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule, the Gypsy and Travelling Communities Strategy and Delivery Plan and the Town Frameworks for Bodmin and Helston will take place between the 11th March and the 22nd April 2013. Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies Pre Submission Version
The Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies Pre Submission Version document is in two parts as set out below. Responses should be submitted by the 22nd April 2013 using the Representation Form, the electronic response form or via the Local Plan online survey, and full instructions for making a representation are given in the 'Statement of Procedure for Making Representations'.
- The Strategic Policies which sets out the main planning approach and policies for Cornwall. It shows the main targets for growth and the distribution of development. It contains general Development Management policies by which planning applications will be judged. This section comprises Contents, Forward, Introduction, Vision and Objectives and General Policies.
- Part two of the document is called Policy Messages for Places. The overall principles from part one of the document apply throughout Cornwall, but part two focuses on locally specific issues and area based objectives. This section comprises PP1 West Penwith, PP2 Hayle and St Ives, PP3 Helston and the Lizard, PP4 Camborne Pool and Redruth, PP5 Falmouth and Penryn, PP6 Truro and the Roseland, PP7 St Agnes and Perranporth, PP8 Newquay and St Columb, PP9 St Austell China Clay and St Blazey Fowey and Lostwithiel, PP10 Wadebridge and Padstow, PP11 Bodmin, PP12 Camelford, PP13 Bude, PP14 Launceston, PP15 Liskeard and Looe, PP16 Caradon and PP17 Cornwall Gateway.
- Included with this document are the Key Diagram, Monitoring Framework, Saved Policies and the Representation Form. An online form for responses is also available.
